BIO: Brookwood is named after the street Tristan Swank, a native of east Tennessee, grew up on. Since he was a little kid, he's always dreamed about making music. After winning a talent show in the 7th grade, he realized this is what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. After his dad found a song he made on a hard drive when he was 17, almost 3 years later, Brookwood has been making music that encapsulates what it is to grow into yourself and deal with change. From a small attic in his parents' house, he creates to help show what music has done for him, using familiar and nostalgic tones in new and unique ways to create a completely Brookwood sound and message. BIO EXTENDED (influences) His major inspirations definitely make an appearance in his music. Growing up, he listened to anyone from The Beatles to Mutemath to Alice in Chains. The highly melodic Beatles songs come through to Tristan's choruses, and really any vocal implication for that matter. In his music, you can also hear major RnB and Rap influences in a few tracks, notably in Daze(You), which has a very psychedelic and wavy atmosphere blanketed over the entire track. In songs like Your Eyes  and Changing, you can hear a more polished, full, and more professional sound, while still keeping his relatable-ness as a broke college student trying to navigate his head. In many songs, he incorporates acoustic and raw sounds (guitars, pianos, etc.) to represent his authenticity with the listeners, while also combining and mixing synths, pads, and experimental percussion to allow him to break genre barriers and be as creative as possible.
